Twitter vs. Texting

Today's society is using various amounts of social media tools online to communicate with family, friends, celebrities, organizations and much much more. My name is Kristen and I'm interested in these social media tools in discussing how society uses them over personal interaction. Instead of using a phone for the basic use of a phone call, society is using phones to "tweet" to each other. These phone users must have some sort of smart phone to allow this to happen, however is twitter taking over texting? Twitter is a free social media tool, that allows one to write to another person, place or organization with allowing that tweeter to tweet only so many characters. Texting also has a limit of characters that one can send to another person, though it will send the rest of the message as another text message. Texting does not allow one to text another organization, event or celebrity unless you have that celebrities real personal phone number. So I ask you, is Twitter used by you, is it taking over texting today? In my opinion, Twitter is used daily, and many people rather tweet to each other than text each other, its less personable. Also, Twitter is free as texting is something you or whoever pays your cell phone bill, pays for. Texting can be more personal and private, so I personally rather text that person I like, than tweet at them, but everyone is different, and some really enjoying tweeting to that special someone so the world of twitter can see it. If that person is you and your thinking, "well, he/she likes when I tweet at them" don't forget to tweet about this blog to them.
