Technology Through the Ages

Technology Through the Ages
Each generation has its fads whether it be television shows or games that have become part of that generations history.  Some generations grow up with lots of technology while others don’t really use any.  The younger generation of today is growing up pretty much from the start with technology in hand.  You have kids in the fifth grade walking around with cell phones and Ipads in some cases even.  At the same time there are those people such as our grandparents and parents who did not grow up with this technology some embracing while others trying as hard as possible to stick in the past.  Through this blog I plan to take a deeper look into how each generation treats our current technological boom.
Now a day you can log into Facebook and perhaps see a friend request from someone such as your friend’s parent, some random person from class, or perhaps even your grandparent.  For many people this could be seen as a nightmare while for others this is just becoming a common thing.  Some children could even technically be seen to grow up through Facebook having gotten it at such a young age.  Looking into how each age group is reacting and providing some exceptions to these cases can make for interesting results.
As a preview I want to speak to people such as my 80-year-old grandfather who is obsessed with his Ipad and loves to mention something that happened on Facebook almost every time I see him.  My 26 year-old cousin who seems to have grown up just after the cell phone boom and cannot respond to a text to save his life.  There is also my 50 year old co-worker who refuses to have  a cell phone, hates the internet, and  is still resisting cable television.  Also my 16 year-old brother who has been an avid Facebook user for years and has had a cell phone since the eighth grade.  Taking a look into how each of these people perceive the technology boom will help to provide an interesting perception on how technology is effecting all generations in different ways.
