Let's Communicate!

What I’d like to talk about in my weekly blogs is how communication social networks are used as a substitute for communication in real life. I was walking and talking with my friends discussing how weird it was for there to be acquaintances who deem it okay to have all the conversation with you on twitter but when you change the context and you are in the same room they have nothing to say. It seems very awkward because you may have the deepest conversations with people over the internet but when in person you act like you hardly know each other. It seems as if relationships are solidified when it is over a mere device but when I see you we act like we don’t even know each other. This will be a very interesting topic to cover because there are a variety of different mediums that people use in everyday life to know someone else’s life but when placed in person these relationships are nonexistent. Things such as Facebook, twitter, instagram, foursquare, etc.. are all blamed for these communication substitutes . I’d like to interview people and ask them how they feel about relationships with peers and even significant others when they are mostly developed over these mediums. Having other insight’s will make it easier to understand and comprehend why these things happen.
